I love to go to Quilt Shows and other sewing events.  I have attended the Martha Pullen sewing market in Arlington, Texas several times.  I don't attend every year as commitments get in the way.  My daughter in law sent me an e-mail about a combined event with scrapbooking, beading, and Martha Pullen.

My daughter in law loves scrapbooking. I love sewing and dabble some in beading. 

How many of you own and use Electric Quilt?  I first purchased V5 of the Electric Quilt software several years ago.  Even though it came with videos and tutorials, I never really learned how to use it.  I could design a simply quilt of blocks that came default in the software but nothing extra or special.  I tried to learn V6 but other deadlines got in the way.  At this point in time, something wonderful happened!  A member of our local American Sewing Guild decided to start a users group and teach those who wanted to attend, how to use the software.

I have always admired the process of taking a raw material and turning it into something beautiful and functional.  As the daughter of a cotton farmer, I watched my dad prepare the ground for planting, plant the seeds, plow the ground to keep it weed free, fertilize the ground, and pray for rain at the right times for his crop to grow.  We won't mention here the number of times we walked every row of the fields to cut out any weeds that grew after the cotton was too tall to plow.

There are few things more exciting than being witness to someone catching the quilting bug.  God did not give me a daughter to teach how to sew until my son got married 10 years ago.

I have always been a task oriented person.  Give me a "to do" list and I will get all items completed and marked off.  To that end, I thought I would create a "Current Projects" picture album on my computer as a visual to do list of all my sewing projects either in progress or I want to do real soon.  I took my Ipad into my sewing studio to take pictures for my new brain child.  I thought I had a good grasp on the projects I had started and one day would complete.  I tend to put projects in the small bins to keep the supplies organized.  This started my "Oops" pha

As apposed to New Year Resolutions, which never last, I am going to set some goals for 2013.

I want to become proficient in Drupal, an open source software that allows people to update the content of their web sites.  Along with this goal is having a better understanding of HTML, CSS, and Javascript.  My kids Christmas gifts will help me with this goal.  Thanks, guys!

I would like to attend three quilt retreats and complete at least four quilts as well as several more smaller projects.  (All work and no play makes me sad.)

Once I had no deadlines to meet with my past job, I decided to list the sewing projects I wanted to complete.  I had no idea there were so many.  I am really excited about getting to start on them because they have been set aside for so long.  Some of the projects, I have already purchased the pattern and fabric.  All I need is the time to work on them. 

My hubby and I celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary with a two week trip to Hawaii.  We spent a week of the vacation on a cruise where we were able to visit several of the islands.  I scoped out a quilt shop on one of the islands that had this cute quilt kit.  I am traditionally not a kit fan but the border fabric is a batik made especially for this shop and this quilt.  It has swimming turtles in the print.  We went snorkeling and swam with sea turtles.  It was so much fun.

As part of my job, I was required to make a Christmas project to display in the store every year.  The following pictures are some of the quilts and wall hangings I have completed through the years.

These are most of the bags I have made in the past couple of years.  I traditionally don't like fabric bags.  I am always worrying about where I can put it down that it doesn't get dirty.  I also tend to fill up the purse I carry so I have to be careful about the size of purse I choose.
